Hello, and welcome to Chapter Three of ‘Into The Woods.’ We are now just three weeks away from our opening night and think it’s time you met the rest of our magical cast.
We’re extremely fortunate to be working with such a wonderful group of people both on and off stage. This week we’ll be introducing you to the second half of our fairytale cast and letting you know just a snippet about them and their background in theatre!
We think our cast are magical, but don’t just take our word for it – get yourself a ticket!
Dan Smith & April Nash
“…the woods are anything but ‘just trees’ ”
Emily White - The Narrator
Emily began singing lessons aged 7 and made her stage debut a year later in The Sound of Music. She has appeared in several shows with Norfolk Youth Music Theatre including Oliver!, The Addams Family, Secret Garden and Little Shop of Horrors.
Apart from musical theatre, Emily enjoys playing the trumpet and has a slight obsession with guinea pigs… She would like to thank all of her teachers and family who have helped her and the whole cast for being so lovely! She hopes you enjoy the show.
Chris Brown - Jack
Chris was born and raised in Norwich and after being away for 6 months working abroad he is glad to be back and joining Sound Ideas, for the first time in Into The Woods.
After graduating Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, Chris has appeared in several shows in London and the rest of the UK. Now back in Norwich Chris is really excited to be back and joining the talented cast of Into The Woods.
Ashley-Kate Inns - Jack’s Mother
Ashley-Kate has been living in Norwich for over twenty years and splits her time singing loudly at her desk or watching Disney movies with her rescue Greyhound, Maisie.
Ashley-Kate is made up to be playing the part of Jack’s Mother and is so excited to be part of such a wonderful cast. She would like to thank her family for always being there and her long suffering boyfriend, Ben, for helping her learn her lines!
Lewis Aves - Cinderella’s Prince
Lewis moved to Norwich when he was 11 and works at House of Fraser and has recently appeared in West Side Story, Jesus Christ Superstar and Miss Saigon.
Into The Woods is Lewis’ first show with Sound Ideas and he has thoroughly enjoyed working with a new, creative company – He hopes you enjoy the show!
Liz Dark - Stepmother
Liz has been involved in Musical Theatre since she was seven, has a Bachelor of Arts in Performing Arts and has been teaching in Secondary schools for over twenty years.
Since moving to North Norfolk from Australia eight years ago she is more involved in writing original musicals. Her first two shows Angelis and When Marnie is There, will be produced in 2017 and 2018 respectively.
Joe Ringer - Rapunzel’s Prince
Joe lives in Norwich and works as a full time vocalist. He currently performs all over the country with his band ‘The JRB’ and is in demand as a freelance/session singer and musical director/arranger. He is also the founder of local performance company Mixed Voice and the cappella group The Acafellas.
Joe is very excited to be returning to the ‘wonderful world of musical theatre’ after a 6 year hiatus and has loved working with such a talented bunch.
Aly Butcher - Lucinda
This is Aly’s first production with Sound Ideas, which she is very excited about. Back in June of this year Aly played the role of Doralee In 9 to 5 the musical, by Dolly Parton, with Threshold Theatre Company at the Norwich Playhouse so she is excited to be returning back there again this Christmas.
Aly would like to thank her family, friends and Sound Ideas for this great opportunity and for all their continued support.
Jon Bennett - Mysterious Man
Jon began acting in 1992 in short films. He has made minor TV appearances: on BBC1, Good Neighbours; on Sky 3, Lorraine Kelly Investigates; on The Discovery Channel, Serial Killers.
He holds an Associate Diploma in Musical Theatre with the London College of Music and performs as a soloist across Norfolk in concerts with Reprise, Musicality and The Singing Squad. He is delighted to be working with Sound Ideas again and hopes you enjoy the show.
Jasmine Jacobs - Rapunzel
Jasmine has lived in Norwich all her life and has been involved with various theatre companies throughout her life.
Roles Include: Sandy, Grease; Conchita, Copacabana. Jasmine is delighted to be joining the cast of Into The Woods playing the role of Rapunzel in her first production with Sound Ideas.
